A Brief History
Karingal is a community organisation based in Geelong. Established in 1952 by a group of concerned parents of children with disabilities, Karingal has emerged into a large regional organisation. As well as providing care and support services to people with disabilities and their families, Karingal also runs a very successful employment services division, including supported employment and Job Network. But it is still an extended family, it is still held dearly by the community and it is still concerned with, and driven by, a need to improve the lives and options of people with a disability.
Role of Karingal
Karingal offers a range of disability support services and Job Network services to consumers and their families in the Barwon South Western and Western Metropolitan Regions. Offices are located in Geelong, Colac, Warrnambool, Werribee, Bacchus Marsh, Footscray, Broadmeadows, Brunswick, Sunshine, Airport West, Moonee Ponds and St Albans. Karingal is committed to providing services that enhance the lives of individuals.
